Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-02

We'd rather give your money back than have you feel stuck with something you don't want. This page explains exactly when we refund, when we don't, and how to ask.

WipDesk subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller of record for your purchase, and every refund is issued by Paddle back to your original payment method. Paddle's own buyer terms are the floor: we can be more generous than Paddle, never less.

Your first 14 days, no questions asked

If you're within 14 days of your first subscription payment, email us and we'll refund it in full. You don't have to explain why.

This applies once per customer, to your first subscription. It's not a legal minimum we're reluctantly honouring — we say it out loud because we'd rather you try the thing than wonder about it.

If you're in the EU or UK, you also have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days. Our promise covers that and applies to everyone, wherever you are.

If your yearly plan renewed and you didn't mean to

Yearly plans renew automatically. If a renewal caught you off guard, email us within 14 days of the renewal chargeand we'll refund it.

We only look at the date. We don't check whether you used the product, how many boards you have, or anything else — if you're inside the window, that's enough.

We also email you about two weeks before a yearly plan renews, so it shouldn't come as a surprise in the first place.

If you're on a trial

If a free trial is available on your plan when you subscribe, the 14-day promise above still applies to your first payment. You don't lose anything by starting with a trial, and you don't lose anything by skipping it.

Leaving a yearly plan early

This isn't a right we publish, but it's worth knowing it exists: if you've paid for a year and you want out before it ends, talk to us. Depending on the situation, we can refund the unused portion minus fees we can't recover.

It's handled case by case by our support team, not automatically. We mention it because people who don't know they can ask sometimes go to their bank instead — and that helps nobody.

What we don't refund

  • Time you've already had.If you used the plan for four months, those four months aren't coming back.
  • Downgrades. When you move to a cheaper plan, the change takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for — you keep everything you're paying for until then. Because nothing is cut short, there's nothing to refund or credit. This is by design.
  • The changeover window.Switching between monthly and yearly billing requires a write to Paddle shortly before your renewal, which can trim up to 12 hours off your current period. On a $288 yearly plan that's worth under $0.40. It doesn't generate a refund or a credit.
  • Monthly plans outside the windows above.Cancel any time and you keep the month you paid for; it just doesn't renew.
  • Features marked "planned". Roadmap items are things we intend to build, not things you bought.

If your card was charged and you don't recognise it

Please email us before contacting your bank. We can usually sort it out the same day; a chargeback takes your bank weeks and locks the money in dispute the whole time.

If a chargeback does go through, here's what happens: the reversed payment is treated as a payment that didn't clear. Your subscription follows the normal unpaid-invoice path — a grace period, then your account moves to Free. Nothing is suspended as a punishment, and your account and your files are never touched. Anything over the Free limits gets locked, never deleted, exactly as it would after any cancellation.

Repeated or fraudulent chargebacks are a different matter and are handled as a moderation issue.

If your account is terminated

  • If we terminate your account for breaking our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, the remaining time on your plan isn't refunded.
  • If we terminate it without cause — we shut down WipDesk, or discontinue the plan you're on — we refund the unused portion of what you paid.

The asymmetry is deliberate. If we're the ones walking away, you shouldn't be out of pocket for it.

About credit balances

Paddle may hold a credit balance for you — usually from a proration in your favour, or from a partial refund. You'll see it in your billing settings, and it's applied automatically to your next invoice.

That balance lives at Paddle, not at WipDesk. It isn't a WipDesk wallet, we don't hold your money, and it can't be paid out as cash. Refunds always go back to the card or account you paid with.

How to ask for a refund

Email support@wipdesk.com with:

  • the email address on your WipDesk account,
  • roughly when you were charged, and
  • one line about what happened — "renewed and I forgot" is a complete answer.

We reply within 2 business days. Once approved, Paddle issues the refund to your original payment method; how fast it lands is up to your bank, usually 5–10 business days.

If something here doesn't match your situation, email us anyway. We'd rather look at it than have you assume the answer is no.
